Findrack Sporting

Findrack Sporting was founded by Hal Salvesen, born from his belief that Scotland has some of the most diverse sporting opportunities in the world. This, coupled with exceptional service and first class accommodation gives a truly unique experience. Hal grew up in Aberdeenshire but after working overseas for many years returned back in 2012 with his wife Emily and their three children.

Findrack Sporting offers shooting (grouse, duck, pigeon, pheasant, partridge, woodcock, geese & clays), stalking (red deer & roe deer) and fishing (salmon & trout). An expert in his field, Hal ensures that safety is paramount and believes in educating everyone about the importance of maintaining the ecological balance of the countryside for future generations to enjoy. Beautiful landscapes and exceptional sport make Aberdeenshire the ultimate country experience. You name it, we’ll help you do it.

The team at Findrack will go above and beyond to deliver first class experiences for their clients but at the same time maintaining the family feel of a day to deliver a unique experience. From the beautiful gardens to the moorland hill, the team work tirelessly to manage the farm for the ecological balance of the countryside. Whether it’s helping recover the red squirrel numbers, managing moorland for red listed birds or growing our own vegetables to be as carbon neutral as possible, the team make it happen.

Steven Harmson was Head Keeper for over 30 years at Findrack and is now head of the simulated days and stalking. His wealth of experience in clay shooting has helped develop the sim days and he is a renowned shot and has taught many people, including Hal who shot his first pheasant and roe buck under his guidance.

Jade Cruickshank has been part of the Findrack family since 2017 when she started work in the gardens but is now head of hospitality and looks after all the catering through the season. Jade’s cooking is truly exceptional and her cheese boards are legendary!

Kim Riley is Head Gardener and has been at Findrack since 2015. Since then she has been instrumental in reshaping the gardens as numerous building projects have gone on around her. All the vegetables, flowers and various homemade drinks are grown by her as well as the wreaths and table decorations.

Suzanne Cookson has worked at Findrack for over 14 years in the office, she manages all the bookings and invoicing, she also helps Hal coordinating all the logistics and manages the clients requirements. From importing guns and getting the required licences to shipping trophies overseas and all the travel arrangements it’s all in a days work for her.
